Corrupted Site Collection?

A while ago, I was building two site collections in SharePoint online, and I wanted to recreate the root collection. So, I deleted the old one (worked fine), and went to create the new one. It was in the process and said "Working on it" when I accidentally clicked one of the buttons above the Site Collection list (I think it was "Buy More Storage"). Now, the root site collection doesn't show up in the list, and going to the URL gives a 400 BAD REQUEST as a response. When I try to recreate the root site collection, it tells me the collection already exists.

How do I fix this so the site collection gets out of limbo?

    hi allan,

thanks for the quick reply. to answer your question, the recycle bin is empty, and the commands get-sposite and get-spodeletedsite don't shed any new light on the issue, i don't think. here's the screenshot of the get- commands:

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=1b1c0bc7-181b-4293-bdce-c1eb2387b383)

and here's what happens if i attempt to create a new root site collection:

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=67f5d15a-e74d-4b93-b5c3-d7ec8890ae5f)

also get-sposite -identity un********.sharepoint.com throws an error that it can't find the site. as such, remove-sposite or repair-sposite aren't useful, either.

hopefully that helps a bit. let me know if you need any more information.

    thanks again,

    eric

    Hi Eric,

To narrow down the issue, would you firstly check the following information?

    1. Check the Recycle Bin to see whether the root site is listed there.
    2. If the site isn’t listed in the Recycle Bin, use the PowerShell cmdlets below to check whether the site has been removed and share us the result for further investigation?

    Get-SPOSite

Returns one or more site collections. Note: Site collections in the Recycle Bin will not be retrieved by using the Get-SPOSite cmdlet.

    Get-SPODeletedSite

Returns all deleted site collections from the Recycle Bin.

More detailed information about Windows Powershell cmdlets to administer site collections in SharePoint Online, please refer to the following information below:

Use Windows Powershell cmdlets to administer site collections in SharePoint Online

Set up the SharePoint Online Management Shell Windows PowerShell environment

In addition, please provide us some related screenshots for us to further look into the issue and we will continue to assist you based on the update.

Note: To insert a screenshot, please click on Use rich formatting and select the Insert Image icon.

    Regards,

    Allan
