in the previous versions of sharepoint my datasheet had frozen headers and I was able to sort by "not empty". Is it possible to add these features to my office 365 sharepoint datasheets as well?

thank you,

deb

    hi deb,

    thanks for your update.

in sharepoint online of office 365, we can’t filter all non-empty/non-blank items in a datasheet view for a list as you mentioned. as a workaround, we can create a specific datasheet view directly to  display all no-blank items as below:

    1. go to the list and click list > create view > datasheet view.
    2. name the view > select the column you would like to display.
    3. in the filter option, select show items only when the following is true. then, show the items when column you would like to filter is not equal to blank. we don’t need type anything into the next box.

    1. click ok and check this datasheet view.

given this situation, we welcome and encourage you to share your ideas through office 365 user voice. your providing feedback is the best way to perfect our products and services.

    we’d appreciate for your understanding.

    regards,

    shirley

    hi shirley,

yes you have it correct. i still use a previous version which supports my need on existing datasheets. however any new sharepoints/datasheet i create i am forced to use office 365... here is a snapshot...of course the wording is different but what i'm looking for is "non-blanks/non-empty". don't care how you word it but would greatly appreciate the feature.

office 365 snapshot for your referance -

    thank you,

    hi deb,

about the question above, may i know if you create a datasheet view for a list in sharepoint online and would like to filter the items by “not empty” in a column as below?

    ![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=e9b5a3e7-3e08-4de2-bbfc-c6b9f88911a8)

if so, to clarify the scenario, could you help confirm the following details?

    1. in the previous versions of sharepoint, could you share with us a screenshot about “i was able to sort by "not empty"” so we can try to reproduce it?
    2. which column would you like to sort by “not empty” in datasheet view?

if this is not your situation, could you share with us more details about these features or some screenshots about detailed steps? we will continue to discuss the situation based on the update. to upload images, please click use rich formatting when replying to the post, then click the insert/edit media icon.

    thanks for your time.

    shirley
