Using a responsive navigation menu on SharePoint Online

Hi there,

I've been doing some research about this, but couldn't find a formal/common approach to make the top navigation bar more responsive on SharePoint Online so far. The problem starts when we have more than 5 items listed on the navigation bar. Since it is not responsive at all, it keeps expanding to right (along with the search field) as the menu contains more items.

We've revised the navigation menu a couple of times to maintain the number of items in our navigation bar until now. But lately we've been getting some negative feedback from users as they can't properly find the required subsites through the navigation var (they have to scroll right to see the rest of the menu).

Is there a formal/common approach to make the navigation menu more responsive? For example, displaying these items in two lines would be a nice option.

Thanks a lot,

IE

Hi IE,

Currently, it’s not feasible to customize the navigation bar like displaying the items in two lines. We can only change the settings under Site Settings > Navigation Settings.

I understand it would be nice if we can customize the navigation bar, so I would suggest you submit feedback to our related team via UserVoice as this the best way to improve the product. Many features have been designed or upgraded based on our customers' constructive comments.

Thanks for your understanding.

Allan
