Excel Power Query source for Salesforce missing in Office 365 Business Premium?

Anonymous

I've just installed Office 365 Business Premium to access Salesforce Power Query support, but it's not visible as a source in 'Get & transform' menu.

The payment for my subscription is still pending, so I'm probably in Trial mode at the moment - though can't find any information on whether this might be a contributory factor or not?

Any insights welcome.

Hi Keith,

Do you want to install Office 2016 version of Office 365 ProPlus? If yes, the Office 365 ProPlus 2016 version will be released from February 2016. The 2013 version Office 365 ProPlus can be updated to 2016 version after releasing.

If you want to install Office 365 ProPlus 2016 version immediately, you can enable First release for your tenant (Office portal>Admin tile>Service Setting>Updates>First release>Entire organization), and then in the software page from Office portal, you will find the installation for Office 2016. To learn more, see How can I get the new 2016 version of Office 365 ProPlus today?

Note: 1.To use Office 365 ProPlus, we need have a plan contains Office 365 ProPlus license. e.g. Enterprise E3,E5 plan or a stand-alone Office 365 ProPlus plan.

  1. It may take 24 hours for the changes of First release to take effect.

If this is not the situation, could you access the two URLs below to capture a screenshot for us?

Hi Keith,

I'd like to explain that Power Query is completely supported in Office 365 ProPlus. It may not include full functions in Office applications from Office 365 Business Premium plan, so Salesforce Objects may not be supported in Office 365 Business Premium.

We suggest you post a new thread in our Power BI forum to check if there’s any workaround. It's a specific channel that handles Power BI usage related issues.

Thanks for your understanding.

Tim

    Tim,

    Thanks for the clarification.

You are correct that I was looking for the 2016 E3 installation link. The E3 plan doesn't mention that it's still on 2013 for general release - which makes it merely a more expensive subscription for ProPlus, as well as generating what looks like a subscription error.

Good tip on the First release option though.

    Best regards,

    Keith..

    Hi Keith,

From your description, my understanding is that you want to install 2013 version of Office 365 ProPlus. If so, you can click the following link to install it:

    32-bit, English:

    https://c2rsetup.officeapps.live.com/c2r/download.aspx?productReleaseID=O365ProPlusRetail&platform=X86&language=en-us&version=O15GA&source=O15OLSO365

    64-bit, English:

    https://c2rsetup.officeapps.live.com/c2r/download.aspx?productReleaseID=O365ProPlusRetail&platform=X64&language=en-us&version=O15GA&source=O15OLSO365

If it is not the case, could you provide more details about “I don't get the installation link for the new plan, just Office 365 ProPlus” and related screenshots?

Note: To upload screenshots, please click Use rich Formatting in this thread and select the Insert/Edit Media icon.

    Regrads,

    Spike

    Thanks, Tim.

I cancelled my Business Premium plan and changed to Office 365 ProPlus, which does indeed have the Salesforce Power Query (as a separate download). However, but that's based on Office 2013. So, I cancelled that subscription for Office 365 Enterprise E3, which has now been applied.

However, in my portal - with only this subscription active for me - I don't get the installation link for the new plan, just Office 365 ProPlus. Any advice on how I get the portal to reset to show the correct link?
