hi,

we're 7 people using office365/sharepoint. for several weeks now files don't upload anymore through onedrive for business. i've got about 40 files stuck in the upload queue, one of my colleagues has almost a hundred files waiting to upload. i tried the repair function in onedrive for business, without any result. onedrive for business does indicate "unknown error" for some files,  but not for all of them...

    Hi Jan,

Based on the situation, you can refer to the following steps to narrow down the root cause of this issue.

    1. Review the Restrictions and limitations when you sync SharePoint libraries to your computer through OneDrive for Business to check whether you have files exceed the limitations.

If so, to pin point file which violates any OneDrive for Business/SharePoint document library limitations, you may use the fix tool in this KB:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2933738

    1. It is recommended to try OneDrive for Business Sync Issues Troubleshooter and let us know the outcome.

    Thanks for your time,

    Frank

    Hi Frank,

I did all of the above but no changes. I'm stuck with 37 files in the upload queue now.

We have around 4000 files on our sharepoint, so it's not due to the limitations  in terms of file volume.

I'll send you the result of the fixing tool in a pm.

    Best,

    Hi Jan,

From the logs you sent, we can see the following folders cannot be synced due to the limitations and restrictions:

    =========================================

C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\HABITER A BRUXELLES\INFOS\Un bail qui démarre dans le courant du mois, et alors_ _ SNPC_files

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\HANDICAPE - Gehandicaptenzorg\Handicap\Service bruxellois francophone des personnes handicapées_files

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\INSCRIPTION & SEJOUR\PERMIS DE SEJOUR\xpatspets_fichiers

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\INSCRIPTION & SEJOUR\PERMIS DE SEJOUR\xpatsresidence_fichiers

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\INSCRIPTION & SEJOUR\PERMIS DE SEJOUR\xpatspets_fichiers\Guide_fichiers

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\INSCRIPTION & SEJOUR\PERMIS DE SEJOUR\xpatspets_fichiers\RefBar_fichiers

    C:\Users\JACKENHAUSEN\Documents\W. shared\SharePoint\T\Documents partagés\05 Expat Welcome Desk\INSCRIPTION & SEJOUR\PERMIS DE SEJOUR\xpatsresidence_fichiers\RefBar_fichiers

However, sine sync issue can also be caused by the corrupted cache, please try with the cache removal Fix it tool provided in this KB article to see if there is any improvement.

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3038627

Note: Back up all the local documents & files to another place before clearing cache to avoid any loss.

    Thanks,

    Frank

Hi Frank, thanks. I will try to remove those way too long file paths.

I have cleared the cache several times. But once everything re-synced new files get stuck again.

So I'm not very motivated to do this again and again... It's a huge hassle, and it eats up all of our bandwidth.

I'll keep you posted if things change when I shorten those file paths.

    Jan
