Change default image folder

How do I change the default image folder in PPT Mac 2011?

Changing "Preferences: Default file location"; changes where the presentation is saved but not where it looks for images.

The default for images is the Documents folder. I can’t find where to change that to get more direct access to my images.

    The information from neither of those links even begins to address this question. In fact, 2 of the 3 don't even pertain to PowerPoint.

    Everyone's efforts to be of assistance are appreciated, but if you do not know the answer please do not reply by sending people on wild goose chases... it's a waste of your time as well as theirs.

    Thanks. I already place my project’s Image Folder in the sidebar and that’s OK.  It’s an extra step to get there every time but I guess it’s the best I can hope for.

    One would think "default to previous folder” would be a pretty obvious option.

    I’m often working on several PPTs at a time so dragging files in and out of iPhoto would be actually make things more complicated.

    PPT doesn't have a built-in means to do that - Word, yes, PPT, no.

    Here are some alternative approaches;

    1. Store your images within folders in the OS X Pictures folder & make certain that Pictures is added to your Finder Sidebar. In that way you need only click it in the Sidebar when you use Inset> Photo> Picture from File
    2. Import your images into an iPhoto Library. You then can use Insert> Photo> Photo Browser to insert your images.
    3. Create an Alias of your images folder & put it in

    ~/Home/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Office/Clipart

    You then can access the images from the Clipart pane of the Media Browser.

    Thank you for the suggestions but these don’t help.

    The first is too cumbersome to do for each presentation and the other two don’t apply to the specific issue.

    If there was a way to simply set the location of the images to “the last folder accessed” that would be ideal instead of always reverting to the Documents folder where I would never keep images for a project.
