Sharing Large Excel Files

I am in the process of setting up a few sharepoint sites for the company I am working for. One thing we do frequently is share large excel files outside of the company (over 10mb). We do not want to make external people have to log in, so we would like to be able to send a share link to the files or folder. I tried to do this, it worked but will not allow access since the file is larger than what the web browsers are able to handle.

My question is, is there away to send a download link of a file on sharepoint outside our network through sharepoint?

Can not reduce the file size as even with no logic built into the file, it is still over 20mb, and we need to keep the logic for others to track where things are coming from, which makes it well over 50mb. So pretty much there is no solution besides using Dropbox or some other external file sharing service.

    Hi Joe,

No, it will not work if we send a download link of the file to an external user as downloading the file with the link directly will need a work or school account to verify the download process.

According to your situation, could you refer to this article to check if you can reduce the file size to meet the limitation of 10 MB of opening the file with Excel Online? If it can't meet your needs, the only method I think is still to make the external user to log into the site and download it directly.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Regards,

    Sky
