Document id with specific ID's not working

We have set up the document id feature on a site collection and we are getting a document id added to documents however we gave the "Begin IDs with the following characters" a value that we would like to use and this is not being picked up when the id is assigned.  For example with gave the "Begin IDs with the following characters" text field a value of 5789461345, but the document id is FVJX2PEVV43W-528167936-2.  As a note the document id settings page states " Configuration of the Document ID feature is scheduled to be completed by an automated process. ".  It has stated this for the last hour.  As there are only 3 documents on this site collection i would imagine it would have completed by now

    hi richard,

the document id is scheduled to been assigned daily on sharepoint online.

given the situation, i suggest you wait another day and check the outcome.

if the issue persists, please confirm the following information:

    1. have you ever used the feature normally?
    2. when did you enable and configure the document id settings?
    3. provide the screenshots of your document id settings and the id for a document.

to upload a screenshot, click use rich formatting just under the textbox, then select this icon![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=d2fc7004-85b9-4fc8-8d97-6e22993d279a) and browse to choose files.

    regards,

    jiaxing bian
