Task list not syncing correctly with MS Projects

So I've created a project in MS Projects and synced this project to the task list of an existing SharePoint site. When I go to the SharePoint site, the task list shows all the tasks starting and finishing at the correct time.

However, when I then go to update the project a problem occurs.

To update the project, I navigate to the task list in the SharePoint site, go to the list tab and click on "Open with Project".  When I do this, the project opens fine in MS Projects, but some of the predecessors and successors have been deleted. I then have to go in and redo all the predecessors and successors and save the file again.

Solutions I've tried:

  1. Open directly through MS Projects and then re-sync to site - no change.
  2. Delete the task list and add a new task list, and then re-sync the project - no change.
  3. Create an entirely new MS Project file and then sync to a new task list - no change.

Previously I haven't had any problems. Has anyone experienced similar problems before and found a solution?

I've created a fresh/new site and haven't had problems, it just seems to be this one site.

    Hi DarrenGreen7293,

Please feel free to share any updates.

And, to further narrow down the situation, I would like to add that, whether the Predecessors is available when you,

    a. see the property is missing from the "Open with Project",

    b. go to the Task list > select the affected task item > on the TASKS ribbon, View Item > click SHOW MORE to check the Predecessors.

    Best Regards,

    Rene

Can you please try creating a fresh site and try synching project server task list to the new site ?

    Just check if that works.
