Hi Alice,
Please refer below responses:
- Regarding “Site mailbox not working”, does the issue happen when setting up the site mailbox or receiving/sending emails via this site mailbox? What is the specific symptom of the issue about site mailbox?
Reply:
Whenever I clicked "Mailbox" it's redirecting to page stating:
"Almost there! To use this mailbox, you have to be able to edit this site. If you were just invited to edit, try again in 15 minutes..."
- Have you ever deleted the site mailbox from Office 365 Portal > Users > Active Users? The user name of the Site Mailbox should be SMO-*******@domain.com.
Reply:
No, I never touched. But, I was able to see this email as per my domain name.
- Provide the thread links about “Site mailbox not working” you mentioned.

- Could you share more details about “the mailbox is not enabled for Admin user in SharePoint admin center” to help us reproduce the issue from our side?
Reply:
Go to SharePoint Online 2013 > Office 365 admin center > Users > Active Users
And, for my Admin User, it was previously showing as below:
"Mailbox permissions: This user doesn’t have an Exchange mailbox."
Here, in order to fix, I manually assigned Mailbox to my Admin User.
