Visio 2016 - Align Error

Question

when working with visio 2016 i cannot use the align function to align certain shapes (some work, and some do not).

when 2 shapes are selected and the align function is selected, when i hover over any of the options (align left, align center, etc…), the menu disappears and nothing happens. i do not have an opportunity to click any of the align options (they disappear to quickly).

i did not have this type of issue with previous versions of visio.

any advise would be much appreciated!

When I upgrade to Visio 2016 again in the future I will try your solution if the issue comes up again and post in the technet forum if needed.

hi jonathan,

i tested on my visio 2016 (16.0.6001.1061), and the align options show ok when i select some shapes and hover over the options (see the screenshots below). to ensure you get the professional assistance, i recommend you post a new thread in the visio forum in technet as that is the specific support channel for visio client usability related issue.

meanwhile, you may try online repair check the result. (in file explorer, paste control panel\programs\programs and features in the address bar > select the office product you want to repair > right click and choose change > online repair.)

Update:

This appears to be a bug in Visio 2016, I re-installed Visio 2013 and the problem no longer exists.

Is there a preferred way to submit bugs like this?
