Disable Cell Animation in Excel 2016

Hi - I would like to disable the cell movement animation in Excel 2016. This was also added in Excel Windows 2015 but could be disabled through advanced settings; there does not seem to be a similar option in the Mac version.

This "feature" is extremely frustrating as it materially slows navigating between cells. Can Microsoft please explain why it was included and why there is no way to disable it?

Go to Excel preferences, Edit tab and unselect "Provide feedback with animation."

It is unreasonable to expect an explanation from Microsoft. Use the smiley face in the upper right of the menu bar to send a frown to Microsoft. Be sure to explain clearly why the feature is important to you.

Hi Bob - thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, this doesn't address the issue - the "Provide feedback with animation" option only affects animations when the user adds or removes cells, but not the the cell selection animations.

These animations greatly slow down the speed at which a user can move through a sheet. Being able to move through a sheet quickly is one of the most important things to a professional user of the software, and so I find it really surprising that Microsoft is adding features that inhibit this.

Thanks Phillip - I've provided this feedback through the Office dialog as well.
