Disabling external users

Question

Hi All,

I would like to disable external users for office 365 site (not remove) and enable then after some time.  Please let me know if this is possible.

You are not removing users. You will simply be removing permission for that group. I think your best bet is to add external users in different security groups based on your requirements and then give permission to that SharePoint group or not give permission to that group. Users always stays in the group and you are not removing them.

I phrased the question in  a wrong manner.  I want to disable some set of users how ever other external users would be accessing the site collection. I want to avoid removing the users from site collection as much as possible.

There is no out of the box way but you can create separate security group(s) for the external users. When sharing the site click Show Options link. This will let you select the group you want external users to be part of. When you want to disable them, you simply remove the permission for that group(s). Hope this helps.

Hi Balu, yes it is possible. You need to go to the O365 Admin area, then scroll down until you see the ADMIN on the left hand side; expand it and select SharePoint. In the new window click on Settings and under the External Sharing section select "Don't allow sharing outside your organization"
