Sharepoint

I created a folder on my local computer D: drive to identify it as sharepoint .  I put my files in there and then go to my sites page and try to sync.  It will then ask me what folder. I point to the sharepoint folder and it always creates a subfolder names sharepoint and then another folder called Docs Si.   I don't want all these folders... I just want one folder with all the files there to sync. Why does sharepoint do this... I don't want to drill down that far...

Help Thanks...

    hi jerry,

i understand that when you click sync on a sharepoint library, it tells you that “i have a later version of office 365 for business en-us”.

if so, to better understand the scenario, i’d like to confirm the following information:

    1. a screenshot when this error message displays.

to upload a screenshot, click use rich formatting just under the textbox, then click this icon![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=1ec511ad-55ae-4317-aff9-d51d64174da1) to insert images.

    1. the version of office applications you installed. open word, click file > account, provide a screenshot of the product information section.

    1. how did you install lync 2013? from office 365 software page or with a msi installer?
    2. provide a screenshot when “my one drive personal sync is conflicting with my sharepoint”, including any error message.

if not, please share more details about the situation.

    regards,

    jiaxing bian

Well I attempted what the website told me and followed the instructions but I cannot download the One Drive for business because it tells me I have a later version of Office 365 for Business en-us. I had to uninstall Lync 2013 to find this out. Now my one drive personal sync is conflicting with my sharepoint. This is driving me nuts... If I place a tech support call for One Drive, they can't help me with sharepoint and vice versa. Something this simple shouldn't be so difficult. I just want one folder to sync my sharepoint files and one folder for my personal one drive.  Thanks for listening

    Hi Jerry,

    Thanks for your updates.

Here is an article about how to sync a SharePoint Online library, please see:

Sync OneDrive for Business or site libraries to your computer

When syncing the OneDrive for Business library from Online to local, the synced folder named “SharePoint” will appear in the local File Explorer. If you want to sync files from local to SharePoint Online, we can drag local files to this synced folder.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best Regards,

    Alice

    Eric:

I am new to this so I am not quite following your advise regarding the sync of the library down first. I think I have tried it several ways and I always come up with the same results. I create a folder on my D Drive names 1709_Share. Then I goto my sites page and click the sync button. When it ask me for the library, I ensure it points to 1709_Share. Then it will create a subfolder named sharepoint and then another subfolder named AFGE sharepoint documents SI... Just driving me crazy. I must be doing something wrong. THanks for your help

    Hi Jerry,

First I’d like to explain that, to sync files to a library on SharePoint Online, we need to first sync the library down (and it will create a local synced folder in a folder named “SharePoint” under the directory you specified), and then put the files into the folder just created. Could you confirm if you experience the same behavior?

If you have any concern about this behavior, we welcome and encourage you to share your ideas through our User Voice forum. Understanding your experience helps us to make our product and service better for you and others.

    Best Regards,

    Eric Yang
