Have a share point folder that has lots of documents. When I sync with word 2016 to the folder, it stops loading half the files. Tried on different machines and have same issue.

I found that the user had over 4000 documents in the one folder.  I broke up the files into separate folders and now they can see the files through Word and the sharepoint intergration.

    Hi Wes,

    1. Does the issue only happen to a specific library? Have you seen this with your OneDrive for Business library?

    2. Could you check if there is anything in common with the files not displayed such as the file type, file size, create by whom, etc.?

    3. Will the same issue happen with other application such as Excel, OneDrive sync client, etc.?

Thanks for your efforts on checking these.

    Eric Yang

This occurs when opening word and going to the sharepoint site folder.  When I open it there are LOTS of documents and will only load up to L on the list.  Online it shows all the files.  There are no error messages, just stops loading.

    Hi Wes,

To clarify the situation, could you confirm the following?

    1. Does this issue occur when you are trying to edit files in SharePoint Online or uploading files to SharePoint Online? If not, could you provide more detailed description about it, such as the detailed steps you performed to sync files?
    2. Regarding “it stops loading half the files”, have you seen any error messages? If so, could you capture a screenshot for our reference?

Note: To upload screenshots, please click Use rich Formatting in this thread and select the Insert/Edit Media icon.

    1. Can you use the Office applications in your Mac normally, such as signing in, opening, editing and saving documents?

With the information requested above, we will provide assistance accordingly.

    Regards,

    Spike
