Sharing failed: Invalid text value. Sharing file externally.

sharing failed: invalid text value. a text field contains invalid data. please check and try again.

user has tried with 2 browsers but same error occurs. 

  • external sharing is enabled.

i've attached the error displayed along with the share

    hi mrdaniel,

    in the office 365 small business, we can’t have more than 2000 characters in the invitation email when sharing the files to external users.

    given the situation, please try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. check if the character number of the content in the invitation email box exceed the limit.
    2. if not, can other users share files to external users with the same content in the invitation email.
    3. if you type some simple characters into the box or blank, does it work?
    4. does the issue occur when sharing any files in the library?
