Why is the Content Type Hub is hidden in o365? Is it an indication not to use the capability when designing solutions?

hi kolithade,

content type hub is not hidden. though it is not listed in sharepoint admin center > site collections section, we can find it via the following steps:

  1. go to site settings of a root site.
  2. under site collection administration, click content type publishing.

in the hubs section, you can see the names of any managed metadata service applications that publish content types to this site collection listed in bold text. after the service application names, you can see the urls for the hub sites. you can also see a list of the subscribed content types.

the content type hub is provisioned with the sharepoint online tenant, it is used to publish content type to all site collections of the tenant. so, we don’t recommend using this site collection for common daily working. i think that's the reason why it is not in the sharepoint admin center.

meanwhile, the content type hub works in sharepoint online, so you can also use it in the designed solutions.

thanks,

eben
