Outlook Cannot Attach File from Mapped SharePoint Drive

I have one user who cannot attach a file to an email from a mapped SharePoint 2010 drive.

When the user starts a new email message and clicks "attach file", she navigates to the mapped SharePoint file, and either double-clicks it or selects the file and clicks "insert", she gets a Microsoft Outlook pop-up that says "https://*****/*****/***.pdf needs to be checked out".

I've checked her privileges and she does have full permission to the folder.  Other users can attach the email just fine.

The user can go into the SharePoint folder via IE and select "open with explorer" then she can drag and drop the file into the message.

I am tasked with "do not rest" until I can fix her problem.

PC setup: Windows 10, Office Pro Plus 2013 (64 bit), SharePoint 2010, and in a Windows 2008R2 domain.

Can someone please help?

    hi mike,

is sharepoint 2010 your referred to sharepoint online 2010 or sharepoint server 2010?

if it is sharepoint online 2010, i'd like to confirm the following information:

1.does the error message only occur to the specific pdf file or all the pdf files?

2.will this issue happen to microsoft documents, such as word/excel/.. on his side?

3.can others attach this specific pdf file?

4.capture a screenshot of the message for analysis.

note: to insert a screenshot, click use rich formatting on this thread and click the insert/edit button![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=71f0b815-7167-4063-978e-6c44d5d38e31).

we will keep assisting you based on your updates if you are using sharepoint online.

if it is sharepoint server 2010, as this forum mainly focuses on office 365 for business online services, i would suggest you post to our dedicated sharepoint server forum for help, which is dedicated in handing sharepoint server related issues.

    thanks for your understanding.

The platform is SharePoint Foundation 2010 Server.

The error message occurs with other files (Word, Excel).

Other users do not have this issue.

I raised the issue at this forum because we are using Office Pro Plus 2013 subscription.

    Hi Mike,

    Thanks for your clarification.

Considering the issue above is related to SharePoint 2010 server instead of SharePoint online service in Office 365 for Business subscription, I would suggest you post a new thread in our dedicated SharePoint 2010 Server forumto get further assistance and find the root cause. Please provide them with the error information, and the engineers there will provide you with more professional suggestions.

    We would appreciate your understanding.

    Regards,

    Shirley
