"Shared With" column in document library

Hi there,

Within a document library on SharePoint Online I'm seeing inconsistency between what is showing up in the "Shared With" column vs what I see when i right click on a folder and click "Shared With".  In this particular situation, some of the people in the "Shared With" column have left our organization a long time ago and I can't figure out how to get their names out of the document library column. They don't appear when i right click on the folder --> click Shared with --> and review.

It's making our users nervous so thanks for any insight you can provide.

The behavior you saw is by design, as the Shared With column displays any accounts that the document was previously shared with. For more information, refer to: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2987770
