Can't Open Template with Macro, Error

When I try to open a template with Macros (from Amazon) I receive a message saying that there is content on the file that isn't supported by this version of Excel, and I can only open the file as Read-Only.

Then I get a message saying Microsoft Forms: an object can't be loaded because it's not available.

Then I receive error code 1004.

With another template (also from Amazon, but an older version) I receive error code 385.

What is going on? I need to access these templates - and be able to write in them.

I have been in contact with Amazon, and they say that the templates are perfectly compatible with Office 2016.

I forgot to mention, but I'm using a Mac, not a PC. So any proposed remedies will have to apply to the Mac.

    Hi Christian,

We suggest you try the following methods:

    1. Repair your Office installation. You may try both Quick Repair and Online Repair.

    2. Try opening the Office apps in safe mode and check if the issue will disappear. If so, the issue could be related to specific add-in added to the Office applications. We suggest you try disabling recently added add-ins and then check again.

If the issue still can be solved, since this forum focuses on Office 365 for Business cloud services, we suggest you turn to our dedicated Office client forum for further help.

    Thanks,

    Eric Yang
