    Hi,

This can be due to the permissions applied on your Android device. To help us understand your concern, we'd like to know the following:

    • Location of the file on your phone.
    • Applications that you have used to delete the file.

In the meantime, you can check this link on how to to delete Office files on an Android device.

We look forward to your response.

They are on Word and are files that I have opened from e-mails on my Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 mobile

These are word files located in word in the "Recent" files and what I can decipher is:

    data >> user >> 0 >> (series of numbers)

Yes, as I stated in my original message, it indicates I do not have permission to delete the file and I believe it may be only when the file is saved as noted above. I'm trying to delete both Word & PDF files in Word and get the same error.

The screen shots below show both the error message and what the files look like. I hope this helps.

How can I change my l permission settings? From what I can ascertain, that is the main issue.

    Please advise.

    Thank you,

    Christine

    Hi Christine,

Just like Jelu Cal mentioned in his post above, there's a possibility that it's your device's permission settings that prevents you to delete the said files. To isolate your concern, we'd like to verify if you're saving the files directly to your device or do you save it to your OneDrive? Also, we'd like to know if you've tried any troubleshooting steps yet.

We look forward to your response.

As you can see from the screen shots I provided, I'm saving this to my device. I'm reattaching my screen shot.

You can see in the file name/path I'm saving to "My Device" .

It's files that DON'T save to my device that are the issue. For example from my previous message:

These are word files located in word in the "Recent" files and what I can decipher the problem is files on that path like:

    data >> user >> 0 >> (series of numbers)

I do not have permission to delete the file and I believe it may be only when the file is saved as noted above.(the data path or any other file not saved to my device.)

    Thank you, Christine
