How do I get back the new document repository interface in SharePoint 365? I clicked on the "X" in the "paint brush" graphic while I was using the classic view, but I expected the option to come back next time I opened the repository. No luck. Now I'm stuck in classic view for the primary repository I use. I have the new interface for 2 other repositories, just not for the main one.

I should also mention that the behaviors is not only the same across 3 browsers, but on 3 browsers on 2 different computers.

Update: I could not see the "SharePoint Lists and Libraries experience" because I had turned off First Release as part of my monkeying around. First Release is back on, and I have "SharePoint Lists and Libraries experience" set to new experience. But I have the same situation, for my main document repository I can only see classic view. For any other repository I can see new experience. The behaviors is the same no matter what browser I use, Edge, IE, or Chrome including incognito. Clearly a server side setting for me.

I do not see the " SharePoint Lists and Libraries experience" option in the admin screen so I assume we have not actually moved to the version with that setting. I had already tried 3 browsers and none will allow me to see the new look setting, the incognito window did not help either. I assume this is not a browser setting, but a server side setting.

    hi garrick,

to use the new interface for sharepoint library or list, you should enable the related settings as the following article mentions:

switch the default for document libraries from new or classic

in your situation, if you have clicked “x” to close the new look chosen window, as a temporary workaround, you can use another different browser or open the browser with pure mode like inprivate browser, incognito window for chrome to open the library again, then you should see the following window again:

please let us know any updates when you are free, so we can continue helping you sort this issue out.

    thanks,
