I am trying to install a program on W10 (done this many times before) but get an warning message ( .NET programmability support for excel not enabled. Please make sure this feature is selected in your office setup) then i click okay and the install stops ... I did a search on O365 support and found a couple of MS techs telling others that this function is not available in 365, yet i have not had this issue until this one machine. it had a fresh install of W 8.1 then i ran the w10 upgrade nothing else was installed on this machine.

    Hi Pete,

The .NET programmability support feature is only available in the Office applications of the MSI version. So if the installation of OneStopReporting requires the feature, you may need to uninstall the Office applications of the click-to-run version and install the ones of the MSI version instead.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Cliff

    Hi Pete,

The .NET programmability support is not available in Office 365 ProPlus Click-to-Run version. It is only available with an MSI installation which usually comes with a retail version or volume licensing version.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Peter,

May I confirm which application were you trying to install when encountered the error message? Office 365 ProPlus 2016?

Besides, could you check you have installed and enabled .NET Framework 3.5 on your Windows following the article below?

Installing the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

    Thanks,

    Eric Yang
