Errors were detected while trying to save Excel 2016 16.0.6741

Split from this thread.

Some of my colleagues are facing exactly the same issue.

Error as follows

Clicking continue and saving as a different name also does not work.

We are using Bloomberg Excel add-in on most of the machine with issues, however it is running the latest version.

I tried rolling back Excel 2016 to May build (to see if the issue was introduced in an update), but it also did not resolve the issue.

What solved it for most was to remove Office 2016 and install 64-bit version of Office 2016. Some users are still having some issues, so I guess it did not completely resolve it.

Not sure if others have seen the same issue?

We have very recently upgraded to Office 365 - Office 2016. One of my users - uses Bloomberg extensively - had reported this. We disabled the Bloomberg Add-in and the .xlsx files saved with no issue. Later today - after again enabling the Bloomberg add-in

    • the saving now appears to be better and working. We're surmising perhaps Bloomberg has made a fix of some type.

    Dear Neha,

Thank you for the reply and support. I uninstalled the 32-bit Office 2016 version and then installed the 64-bit package; did the same with Bloomberg. The issue seems to be solved for now! The Bloomberg add-in works normally and I can save the excel files without the app deleting all the Bloomberg formulas.

The issue was definitely related to the Bloomberg add-in, but came up only after I completed the Windows updates last week.

    Thank you

    Hi Ray1818,

Check what version your office 2016 is - 32- or 64-bit. If your Windows is 64-bit, then uninstall office and install the 64-bit version. Reinstall Bloomberg again. This worked for me!
