Updating "Shapes" in PowerPoint

As a powerpoint designer currently in the design process, I want to be able to edit a logo that is used on many slides in many different positions on the slides so that a single edit to the logo will update all the logos on all the slides that utilize this logo (my logo is a "group" in powerpoint comprised of an image of a dog and some text).

I found that utilizing master slides was cumbersome as my logo is on many different positions in my slides (sometimes the logo is in the center of a slide, on another slide - the logo is on the left).

Adding a "storyboard shape" was great - but I can't update the shape...

    Hi Ma. Lau,

Thank you - it sounds like Steve's way is the closest?  (not sure if you read why I didn't like Steve's way). Masterslides don't work for me as you can tell from my original post.

    Hi Steve,

It sounds like the methodology you suggested is my best bet... can you clarify how to update the image again?  All I have to do is reopen the powerpoint where the image is linked in?

Actually using master slides is the best option. You can change the content from master slide to master slide. Meaning, as long as you don't create all the content in the big Master Slide box at the top, you can create different layouts depending on your needs. Ex: You can have a logo at the top right of your slide on one Slide Master, and then on another Slide Master slide you can put it in the bottom right. Virtually everything can change from slide to slide. And all you need to do (when outside of the Slide Master) is right click on the thumbnail and choose which layout you would like. Hope this helps!

That's correct.  If the image on the hard drive has changed and is still in the original location, PPT will offer to update the link.

I'd test it on a few slides first before spending hours on updating the whole presentation.
