Infopath 2013 forms losing data even while open

We are using an InfoPath 2013 form published to Office 365 and being edited in the browser to submit our travel requests. This request form has happily handled thousands of requests with no issues until yesterday 24th May 2016 when suddenly users started reporting data disappearing from forms at random, even while the forms are open in front of them. I am at a loss to explain what is going on.

Users report this from a range of browsers and at different times across different offices throughout the UK.

Users who see this have said that the form "jumps" slightly, so I am assuming that the data connection is being fired or some kind of postback is happening. There have been no changes to this form for several weeks so it is a bit confusing.

Any ideas or anyone else getting this?

Not sure if this was the actual reason but Microsoft have now deployed a fix for our issues and we have tested and the forms are responding fine again. Note: some users needed at CTRL R or CMD R refresh in their browser before they worked again despite closing and reopening their browsers.

Current Status: We investigated an issue in which users are unable to retrieve a subset of SharePoint Online lists when using a specific Application Programming Interface (API). The investigation determined that an update intended to improve the mobile user experience caused the API to return incorrect data. We've begun to deploy a fix and functionality will be restored for affected users as soon as the fix reaches their environment.

User Impact: Users may be unable to use custom applications and features that leverage Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interface (API) calls to retrieve SharePoint Online lists. Additionally, SharePoint 2013 workflows which retrieve lists may be affected as well. A subset of lists are affected by this issue.

Scope of Impact: A few customers have reported this issue, and our analysis indicates that impact is specific to a subset of SharePoint Online lists.

the data that the user is currently filling into the form disappears, not all of it, just some fields. these range from a people picker field to a plain text field, and it is random. this only happens 50% of the time, and it is not always the same fields. sometimes when the form opens, fields that are on the form do not appear (e.g. the people picker box) but re-appear when the form is refreshed. also when the error happens, the close button on the top left hand corner of the form doesnt work either. that is the infopath button, not one we have placed on the form.

then a second or so later with fields missing e.g. name

also note it has changed the title field back from ms. to the default picker status of mr.

update: microsoft support are looking into this and have said that more than one customer is affected by this so we may have a fix soon.

    hi chloegilbert01,

please let us know some detailed information so we can fully understand the situation.

regarding "reporting data disappearing from forms at random, even while the forms are open in front of them", do you mean the forms submitted previously disappear or the content which a user currently fills in disappear? some screenshots will be highly appreciated.

to insert a screenshot, please click use rich formatting > !\[\](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=8ece544a-0c8f-451b-8486-7447ff9fb1c9)  insert/edit media > browse... > insert.

besides, we didn't receive any notification about similar report or data connection issue recently.

    thanks,

    frank
