Copy/paste to a list doesn't work

Another soul destroying day trying to get Sharepoint 2013 to do what used to be pretty straightforward in earlier versions.

Navigate to the last row of a list using keyboard controls

ctrl/v to paste a few lines copied from a spreadsheet

The first row gets a  spinning icon but never completes the operation.

Msft - why do you keep breaking things that used to work? Is the product not already bad enough for you so you have to make it worse?!! Hours wasted on something that should take seconds  - and this is supposed to AID productivity?

No it simply doesn't work. The first row gets the spinning icon but nothing happens and you have to close the page to get out of the operation. Then you see that only the first row is copied. This is using IE9 or IE10.

Another broken worthless feature in this frustrating poorly made product ...and now I see the same problem if I paste one line at a time so there is no way to work with a list.

I give up. Let me know when the product has been improved and maybe I'll try again - as it is, it's more trouble than it's worth.

    hi mchv2.0:

i have tested the steps in ie, chrome and firefox browsers, the copy/paste a few lines from a spreadsheet to a list works in the ie browser. here are the steps: copy a few lines from a spreadsheet > navigate to the last row of the list > select the whole row > paste.

    below are the examples:

you could give it try in ie browser to see the outcome. if the issue persists, appreciate it if you could share with us the types of your sharepoint site, list and list views and the detailed steps you performed to copy/pasted data from spreadsheet to list.

    regards,

    jared

Since I  already provided enough detail above why don't you try it yourself and if it works, give me the exact steps used (including browser etc) so I can narrow down the problem here.

    Hi Mchv2.0,

To clarify the situation, I’d like to collect the following information.

    1. The detailed steps (including the screenshots and the buttons you have clicked during the process) about how you reproduce the issue.
    2. A screenshot regarding “The first row gets a spinning icon but never completes the operation.

To upload screenshots, please click Use rich Formatting in this thread and select the Insert/Edit Media icon.

    1. Check if the issue occurs to other browsers?
    2. Temporarily create a new list and check the result.

    Regards,

    Spike
