    Hi Steven,

Please make sure that you have unchecked the option ‘Enable Protected Mode’ in IE. For your reference:

    https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/sharepoint_made_easy/2013/03/20/map-network-drive-webdav-with-sharepoint-online-o365/

    1. Open IE-> Go to ‘Internet Options’
    2. Select ‘Security’ tab -> Select ‘Internet’ Zone.
    3. UnCheckthe box for ‘Enable Protected Mode

In addition, please also make sure that you have enabled the WebClient service.

    1. For Windows system, choose Run option(Win+R), type services.msc, and then press Enter.

    2. In the list of services, locate the WebClient service, and then make sure that its status in the Status column is set to Started. If it isn't set to Started, double-click the WebClient service, click Start, and then click OK.

    Regards,

    Allan

This is another example of the failed authentication process and Msft's attempts to downplay it. The support folks here KNOW the workarounds don't solve the problem but they keep suggesting them because Msft refuses to address the root cause.

Anyone with any SP experience knows mapped network drives lose their connection to SP and have to be remapped regularly. Network shortcuts aren't much better but at least last a few days and don't have to be recreated.

Why Msft doesn't recognize that and keeps pushing solutions that frustrate users is beyond me.

    Hi Steven,

Are there any updates? You may try using the new OneDrive for Business sync client for syncing those files.

    Regards,

    Tim

"You may try using the new OneDrive for Business sync client for syncing those files."

A better idea would be to fix this broken functionality and give customers the choice. Why Msft promotes their sync tool which has never worked reliably and is widely regarded as a disaster is beyond me.
