Hello,

I am on Windows 10 Enterprise and using Microsoft 365 office products.

I have an issue with my Windows Security Login popup. Whenever any application from Microsoft 365 tries to log in with my Microsoft account credentials via Security PIN, it goes into a loop.

Below I am trying to disable/change PIN/verify my identity in my sign in options in settings:

Below in my Excel Sign in:

Even if I click for other methods, it keeps looping to same window.

Also I am not able to close this popup any way even after closing my settings/excel. The popup remains on my screen until I restart.

Even clicking on cancel does nothing, it pops up again.

How can I resolve this?

    Hi

This usually happens if the device you are using hasn't been verified for the Microsoft Account you are using and you have Apps that require a verified account to access data (e. g. Onedrive, settings sync, Mail, etc.)
We could verify a Windows 10 device via settings.
Go in to Settings and in the Accounts area there should be a link to verify your Microsoft Account to your device.

Also please check whether we have reached the maximum 10 devices verified to a Microsoft Account.
We could manage the list from Microsoft Account website to check if memory serves correctly.

Hope the above information could bring you some help.
    Best Regards

    Hello,

I ended up reinstalling my windows. I performed clean install formatting and repartitioning.

It chew up 2 days of my schedule doing all this, reinstalling apps, moving data etc. Now I am back up and running however don't really know if I missed something.

I hope nobody faces such situation however. As we could not pinpoint the root cause of this issue.

    Hi,
I have a user that is having exactly the same issues as you.
Have gone through all the suggested steps and like you, there's been no luck at stopping the loop.
Was hoping to avoid going through the clean install formatting and repartitioning, but it looks like it might be the only way to get past this issue.
Hopefully this resolved for you permanently?
