Embedded Excel links in Powerpoint

Hello,

We are having issues with PowerPoint presentations which has embedded excel links. On opening the presentation, it prompts to update the links. On clicking on Update links, it gets stuck and does nothing.

Workaround that works is if we hit cancel and then update the links in File-> Info-> Edit links. However, we would like to get it fix when initial prompt shows up.
