Using A Single Workflow versus Multiple Workflows

Question

Currently setting up a new library in SharePoint 365 within one of our MS Teams...  This particular library will have multiple events happening depending on how files are updated as part of a new repository process...  Should all of the desired automation for the library be contained within one single workflow or is it better to create a workflow for each event or event group? Can an SP library have more than one workflow created or applied to it?

Any guidance will be most appreciated...

Thanks for your update and the detailed information.

In the situation you described, you may create several workflows in the library. Note the Workflow limits that the maximum value for the workflows in a library is 100, while the maximum value for the type of the workflows is 15.

Thanks for the response Tina!! Sure, no problem... let me try to detail out things to better shed light on the situation.

The library that has been created is going to be used as a file repository... When someone uploads a file into the Library, it will kick off a workflow or workflows as part of a review process for any file that is uploaded. There will be seven (7) main elements or events in the review process or what would be part of the complete workflow... And the workflow, of course, is being put in place to automated the majority of the desired process. There will be a couple manual steps along the way that will then trigger another workflow event to occur, etc.

So my question was does one need to include of steps or events in the ongoing process within a single workflow... or should one have a separate workflow for each of the seven main events in the review process? Keeping in mind that all of this is taking place within this same Library. 

What is the best practice in this situation... a single workflow that covers each event? or separate workflows for each main event? And I go back to my other question, can a Library have more than one workflow attached to it?
