Intelligence Services Malware

Anonymous

For several weeks now every time I start word I get the unwanted popup for Intelligence Services with no way to permanently end this intrusive spam. I don't want you Intelligence Service. I just want to edit my document. Leave me alone.

At this point it has to be considered spam, and the next time it occurs (likely later this day), I'm reporting microsoft for unwanted phishing and trojan virus production.

Further, it is one thing for Microsoft to use its monopoly of desktop OS to drive out all other relevant word processing programs by closely bundling it with the OS, but now you are using this as a vehicle to assault consumers with spam.

Fix it.

I don't know if you are ignorant or a deliberate liar, but either way you are full of crap. As you can see my  "Enable Services" check box is unchecked under Office Intelligence services, and and I still get your spam. You are distributing malware.

    Hi DanHass,

    We can understand you feeling.

You can close this intelligence service in Word following the steps below:

    1. Open Word and click File>Options.
    2. In Word Options>General, unselect the Enable services in Office intelligent services column and click OK.

If you can’t find the option as the above shows, could you provide us the version of Word you are using?

    Regards,

    Kimi

This happens every time I launch Word on the first time I insert a picture into a document. It is very disruptive, unwelcome and constitutes spam. Further, because MS Word is a monopoly at this point it violates anti-trust regulations.

    Hi DanHass,

To move forward, could you confirm and provide the following?

    1. Did you encounter the issue before? What did you do before the issue happened?
    2. Confirm whether you encounter the issue when you open all documents on your computer and open a new document.
    3. Provide us with a full screenshot of the page showing the version information of the Word client you are using. You can access the page via File>Account.

    Thanks,

    Cliff
