Microsoft Visual Basic Run-time error `53'

Ever since I recently ran some Microsoft updates for Office on my Mac, I've been receiving the following error message every time I open a Word document. It's not happening with other applications like Excel or Powerpoint. I can still open the documents in Word but I have to click "Abort" first every time.

Microsoft Visual Basic Run-time error `53'

File not found: /Libary/Application Support/Adobe/MACPDFM/MacPDFM.framework/Versions/A/MacPDFM

Abort [button]

Does anyone know how to fix this???

    Hi Franky,

Could you provide a screenshot of your Word client version number?

Besides, you can refer to methylation's solution in this thread File not found error 53 on every startup and quit of MS Word for Mac 2011, 14.6.6.

    "

I had the same problem, and found that it was due to incompatible Adobe Add-in "linkCreation.dotm".

    It is located at:

    ~/Library/Group Containers/UBF8T346G9.Office/User Content.localized/Startup.localized/Word

Once you remove the file and re-start Word, no more errors.

    Regards,

    James

If you don't have any Autorun macros that you know of, then you should replace your Normal template, as it would seem to hold a macro that is trying to execute constantly.

Thanks James. I tried this and found I have no add-ins, so this can't be the problem, unless I'm supposed to have add-ins.

I've checked but I have no "Group Containers" in my library.

The problem persists and after spending some time on the phone with Microsoft support it appears that have no idea why their update caused this problem or how to fix it.
