    Hi

In order to keep the interface cleaner, in Excel for Mac the button is on the Ribbon. Click the Add Chart Element button on the Chart Design tab of the Ribbon for the options you are looking for.

My personal preference is that I don't like the button attached to the chart. However, many Office for Mac users come from Windows and are used to it being there.

Microsoft has a forum devoted to feature requests and interface design suggestions. I looked through the forum and didn't see a request to have the Elements button display, so you may wish to start a new request. Here's a link to the forum.

    Hi Jordon,

Thanks for posting in our forum. To help you troubleshoot the issue, could you first share with us the following info?

    1. What do you mean by "display chart element"? Do you mean the chart doesn't display properly or you want to use functions like Format Chart, Format Axis but the panel doesn't display? Please capture a screenshot for the current chart and let us know which element you want it to display (if it's possible, you could capture a screenshot for the element which will display in other workbook).
    2. Is the issue only related to a specific workbook? If yes, is it created by yourself or other users?
    3. Is the workbook saved in cloud storage or local drive? Do you open it via the desktop app or Excel Online?
    4. Click Excel/Apple icon on the top bar>About Excel/About This Mac>let us know versions of your Office suite and Mac OS.

    Best regards,

    Tim

The chart element I talking about is a green plus sign that supposed to appear near the upperright corner near the chart when you click on the chart once.
