Excel drop downs for copy/paste not functioning properly

Question

I was able to use Excel 2016 fine for college work earlier, but after I attempted to copy and paste a function, the option no longer exists. I've been trying to find a solution but I have found nothing so far.

I was trying to copy homework from before using Crtl+C then the drop down under Paste with the fx function. But now there's no option for the function at all. And no method that I can see to retrieve it.i Rose

If you wish to copy data to a range which includes data validation, you can select the paste special values and/or formats options. A simple copy/paste operation will overwrite the existing data validation.

If this it what has happened with your homework, I think that you will need to revert to a backup copy of your workbook.

I think I might have fixed the issue? I had to turn Format Painter on and off several times, but I think I can see the dropdown menu again.

Sometimes updates turn out to be unstable. You could try to go back to a previous version of Office . Here the steps

That did not help. Fully uninstalled and reinstalled. Same issue.

I'd suggest doing an online repair of the installation. That should fix it.
