I tried to copy and paste this morning and everything works as normal today. It seems Sharepoint was able to sort itself out overnight. I can copy from a calculated cell and paste the value into any other file.
Sharepoint Excel - Unable to paste values, only formulas
Starting this morning, 01May2019, my team has been unable to paste values (from a calculated formula) from the online browser version of Excel into any other file. The paste action will only let us paste the original formula and it will only allow two options for pasting, both formatting. I have tried pasting into another Excel file in Sharepoint, into an Excel file on my PC, into a word doc in S.P., and into a word doc on my PC, none of these allow for pasting the values. See images below, I am using "0" values to keep our data confidential.
We have never had this issue until today. Our workaround is to download the Excel file and copy and paste from the downloaded file, which is annoying because we then cannot update the shared Excel file after performing the copy and paste actions.
Any suggestions or information would be appreciated. Thank you.

2019-05-02T05:13:06+00:00 Hi Jacob,
I did the test from my side and got the same result: I copied the data from Excel Online, and past it into a workbook that opens in Excel client. Then the File Explorer opens and it's asking about the data source. I select the workbook that contains the Test1 worksheet and all the data updated in Excel client.
There are a few workarounds here:
- Use Open in Excel in Excel Online. The workbook will follow the protocol and open in Excel client. Users can edit the file at the same time and sync the change to SharePoint.
- Clicking the Sync button in SharePoint Online to sync the Document library with OneDrive Sync Client, then all the users can open the file from File Explorer and copy/paste. With the AutoSave turned on, the users can work on the shared workbook in Excel at the same time and the change will update to SharePoint too. Sync SharePoint files with the new OneDrive sync client.
Regards,
Alex

Thank you for looking into the pasting issue. It appears Sharepoint was able to fix the problem overnight. I can now copy and paste as normal.
