SharePoint Document Libraries Not Displaying Contents to Attach Files in Outlook

I manage a Group SharePoint Site that has multiple site document libraries. When I go to Outlook via Office 365 and try to attach a document I can only see folders from one of the group's document libraries.

How would I be able to see our other document libraries files when trying to attach a document?

The user in the thread below has the exact same problem:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/sharepoint-document-libraries-not-displaying/e250ef54-a326-472e-8f82-2b11db5f3434

As last response in the thread was in March 2018, just wondering if there is any updates on this matter.

Thank you.

Open file explorer,  right click "this pc" in W10 and in the context menu select "ADD A NETWORK LOCATION"

    Enter the site url

You may get an inaccurate error message about "invalid folder",  which is a result of Msft's flawed authentication process. If you do, email me at support at webbrewers dot com and I'll tell you how to get round that.

    Hi Leanne L TT,

You can map a network drive with SharePoint site to achieve this. Once you log in to your SharePoint Library site with Internet Explorer browser. You need to switch the classic experience for Library site and open the library from File Explorer. After you copy and paste the Library address paste to Map Network Drive and connect to library. You can view your document library from your local File Explorer. You can refer to this article for more details about how to map a network drive with SharePoint site.

If there is an error message about “Access Denied. Before opening files in this location, you must first add the web site to your trusted sites“ when you map a network drive, it means you need to add your SharePoint site as a trusted site in Internet option. You can refer to this TechNet blog for more details.

    Hope this can help you

    Best regards,

    Dihao

Mapped drives are fine if you don't mind going through the above process everytime you shut down your computer or the cookie expires. But I think you'll find as most people have that network locations are more persistent and easier to reconnect then mapped drives. I don't know why Msft insists on pushing a far less convenient option.

    Hi Leanne L TT,

From your problem description, you would like to view different folders from group’s document library under attachment file. At this moment, user can only view the one site folders by default. However, as the workaround, you can switch among the different group’s libraries by selecting the tab above to go back to the home page.

If you would like to visit the library from different sites, you can change the SharePoint site address with the permission from address bar to view the content.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused to your works. We suggest you can vote this great idea in Outlook UserVoice. It is the most efficient way to let product team know about this limitation.
