Sorry, I couldn't recreate the problem
I have no best guess. I tried setting my column B to number with no decimal places, but that rounded up to 12.

I was editing a spreadsheet and I have noticed that the sum function rounds down every 0,5 number I enter, even tho I'm sure I'm using the sum function without the rounddown one.
Dunno what's causing this. Help xb
Ps.: pls don't tell me it's the comma

In this case unfortunately, I think it was because OP was using a comma instead of a period for the decimal place. I think Excel doesn't know that OP wants to use the comma as the decimal, so it doesn't know what to do with that box. I also typically allow 2 decimal places for the sake of recording numbers. If it doesn't change the formatting of the cell right away, it may require a re-entry (which is what happened to me when I was testing out using the comma as the decimal after changing that setting). It made me re-enter the 0,5 before it worked properly.
