Thanks for all the help.
I rolled back to build #16.32 which has solved the problem for the time being.
I will wait and see what #16.34 brings.
Happy New Year to you all.

When I format a cell as currency (using UK £), the cell goes blank. The value is still displayed in the Formula Bar but not in the cell.
However, if the amount is negative e.g. -£1,000, it does display in the cell.

I am experiencing what I believe is a related problem. Beginning with build 19122904, certain special characters do not display despite being in the formula bar. Some examples include the en dash (–) and em dash (—). This happens with new and existing workbooks. When I view the same workbooks in Excel for iOS, the characters display properly.

Hi, I have the same problem in my iMac 2017 Catalina 10.15.2.
Today update #16.33.19122904 doesn't resolve it. I have a copy of Excel #16.33.19121804 that display the correct numbers in currency columns.
Hi
You folks are using Insider Fast builds of Office.
It is very important to post questions and comments about Insider builds in the Insider Forum. You've posted to the general release forum. The support folks here do not know about what 's going on with Insider builds.
For this reason I am locking this question thread. Please repost this issue inthe Insider forum so that the Microsoft folks working on Insider builds will learn of the issue. It is also critical to report anomalies using the Smile button in the upper right corner of the Excel window when using Insider builds
Thanks
