    Hi all,

I have just encountered the same problem as above. I do not have the option to choose how to group. If i select all of the data cells from the pivot table, it will only create "Group 1" and does not give the option to break down dates by year or month as my previous work sheets have done so. I do not know how to proceed from here, i tried to re-create a new pivot table in the same workbook but it is still the same result. I tried to copy from an older workbook and as soon as i pasted the pivot table, it reverted to the  new non grouping format.
