Formatting the Visual Basic window in Excel Mac

I am having problem locking windows such as the Immediate and Watch windows in Excel Mac. The windows originally were attached to the bottom of the grey work area in the VB window along with the code windows. I could resize, and enlarge/reduce them but they stayed at the bottom. I appear to have done something and now the windows either float independently of the VB window or they will only lock at the top.

Can someone suggest what I may have done to create this, and how I can fix it?

Thanks

Bill

    Hi Bill,

I'm so glad that the problem has been solved. I made a conclusion for this issue specifically, which may benefit other community members in the future.

    Issue description:

You can't seem to dock the panel except the top. The panel will float anywhere in the Visual Basic window in Excel Mac.

    Issue environment:

    Excel for Mac

    Issue solution:

You can try to uninstalland re-install Excel for Mac on your side via this article. Because re-install may reset some settings in Excel application.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn

    Hi Mark:

I did try this, unfortunately with no success. I have just completed re-installing Office as Jim suggested and that has fixed the problem. Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Hi Bill,

Sorry for the inconvenience the problem caused for you.

Based on your description, you want to change the position of Visual Basic window in Excel for Mac.

However, I searched a lot about it and tested it on my side, I didn't found a method to do this.

If you still want to change it, you can try to re-install Excel for Mac on your side via this article. Because re-install may reset some settings in Excel application.

    Thanks for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Jazlyn

    Hi

The panels of the VE Editor window are able to be dragged around and arranged any way you want. Simply drag the name of the window around. You can have them floating or docked and move them to various positions in the VB Editor window. Here's an example:

Thank you for asking about this. Floating and dockable panels is a very nice feature of the Visual Basic Editor. You're not stuck with the default window and panel layout.

Another nice feature of the editor is Excel > Preferences while in the editor. You can customize the fonts in the code modules.

    Hi Jim:

Thanks for the reply. The problem I am having is that I can't seem to dock the panels, except at the top. In any other position in the window, the panel just floats. Up until very recently, I had the Immediate and Watch panels docked along the bottom of the window but somehow they became undocked and I can't find a way to re-dock them.
