Remove tables from pivot table field list

I have a workbook that uses tables, Power Query connections to those tables, a data model, and pivot tables/pivot charts for users to analyze the data model.

The pivot table field list contains both the Data Model tables (with measures, only the columns I want users to see etc.) and the original data tables:

I only want users to be able to see the Data Model tables to avoid confusion. So in the picture above they would only see the first Employees table, not the second. How can I remove the original tables from the pivot table field list?

    Hi phreid,

Thanks for the updates. Have you tried click Refresh and check the result?

    Regards,

    Clark

Yes I've refreshed the data. I appreciate your help but I don't think you're understanding my issue. I know how to refresh data connections and hide tables from client tools. The problem is that tables are showing up in the pivot table field list, but not in Power Pivot even though they seem to be have been added automatically to the data model.

    Hi phreid,

Thanks for the updates. tables show in PowerPivot addin are tables in the data model, but the All view of pivot table filed list show all tables in the workbook. (you can check all your tables and connections in Data>Existing Connections) you may locate the tables in the workbook and rename them to avoid confusion.

Additionally I think you can choose which table shows in Active Fields list. (right click and choose show in Active Tab)

This may help users on which field is used in pivot table.

    Regards,

    Clark
