Data changes after splitting

When I split the data, some of the numbers from what I noticed, where switch to dates but, when I change the cell formatting of that column to general it doesn't revert back to the original number. instead it turns into something like 48342

Heres an example: 

Below is what I expect 1003-5 to look like after splitting 1 and 0 with text to column

|1|0|03-5| 

Instead I get

|1|0|5-Mar|

Then when I change the cell format to general I get

|1|0|43895|

I tried text as well but the issue still persists

    Hi Jeovany, unfortunately flash fill wont work for me because Im trying to use text to columns to organize a a specific set a numbers that are mixed up with other numbers. in this case im trying to find numbers that start with 1 and 0 but excel thinks I want a date instead

    In the 3rd step of the wizard change the type of the columns to Text.
