    Hi Harisha,

Thank you for posting your question.

Based on my test, the default column of SharePoint list may not available to display in Display Form view. But, if you would like to display the default “ID” column of the list in Display Form view, You can try a easiest way by creating an calculated column for “ID” column.

1: In list settings > Create a column > Calculated column

2: Enter =[ID] in formula section

3: Then add this calculated column to your view.

4: After, you should able to see the ID number of the items in Display Form.

    Best regards,

    Dihao

    Hi Diho,

    Thanks for your reply.

I am having a content type to show the fields in the form. If i have to create a calculated column and define its formula to ID, when viewing the item in the display form it shows value as 0.

I believe that when creating an item the ID field will have no value, after an item is created the ID field generates value, so it is displaying 0 i guess. Is that so?

This idea doesn't work it seems. Could you please advise me on this?

    Thanks,

    Harisha

    Hi Harisha,

Thank you for your reply and information. It seems that you have a content type in your list, and you would like to display the ID for these content type item as well in display Form view.

Based on my test, the content type seems it can’t gather the ID information with calculated column which it is display a zero in the calculated column as you mentioned in latest reply. Hence, calculated column might be not suitable in this scenario.

Previously, most of users can create a new custom form view to enable the ID column in SharePoint designer by adding code.

    For your information:

    Show ID on DispForm

How to display item ID in Edit Form

Unfortunately, Custom Form creation feature is disabled in SharePoint Designer since 3:00 AM UTC on Saturday, April 25, 2020 by Microsoft. However, we could be able to achieve this by Microsoft PowerApps as a replacement for this purpose.

    For your information:

Create custom forms in SharePoint designer 2013

If you are interested in PowerApps, I suggest you can post this question with your requirements in Microsoft PowerApp community. The experts of PowerApps can share more professional suggestions and ideas based on your demand in PowerApps

    Hi Diho,

Thanks for the suggestion. But I do face a small problem if I go with PowerApps custom forms.

I do want to refer the link of the item which opens up in DispForm.aspx (while using default SharePoint form) as a link in another library which refers to a document. So when i click the link over there in the library, it directly opens up the item in the view form, which is want I wanted.

But when I go with PowerApps custom form, while trying to open the item in view form, it opens up as a side panel in the right in the All Items.aspx page itself. I do not get the link to the particular item in DispForm.

    Could you suggest on this?

    Thanks,

    Harisha

    Hi Harisha,

Thank you for your reply. Based on your description, you would like to get the individual item in the PowerApps customize form rather than get all item in the slide panel. However, due to my limited knowledge of PowerApps, I couldn’t provide you more useful suggestions in this scenario. Because this forum is majorly focusing on the built-in features of SharePoint Online. For the PowerApps, we have a professional support team of PowerApps in PowerApps community. Hence, I recommend you can raise this demand on PowerApps communitywhich you can get more professional advises of PowerApps. Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards,

    Dihao
