UserForm Tools Additional Controls

I am flummoxed as to why I can't get UserForm Tools "Additional Controls" e.g., Calendar Control 11.0 (and all the others) on my Windows 10 PC.

I have confirmed that the MSCOMCTL.OCX file is in the C:\Windows\sysWOW64 folder.

I have used the command prompt regsrv32.exe to both un-register and register the file.

In the VB Editor (after performing the steps above). Microsoft Windows Common Controls 6.0 (SP6). DOES NOT appear in the list of available references.  However, I can Browse for file and manually load the MSCOMCTL.OCX file and after I do, then Microsoft Common Controls 6.0 (SP6) does appear in the list (and is checked). But when I click on "Additional Controls" nothing happens.

With all of that done, if I attempt to open a file with a Calendar Control 11.0 embedded, I get an error "could not load an object because it is not available on this machine."

I have tried the trick about setting compatibility mode for Word to WindowsXP, I have done a Windows Automatic Repair, I have removed the MSCOMCTL.OCX file and reinstalled it from several weblinks and successfully registered it.  I'm at a loss.

Any ideas?  Thanks.,

The Calendar Control was last distributed with Office 2007; starting with Office 2010, it is no longer available.

Don't you get controls such as the Microsoft ListView Control, version 6.0 in the Additional Controls dialog?

    Hans,

I get nothing!!  No controls whatsoever.  I click "Additional Controls" the cursor spins for a second or so and then no list, no error, just nothing.

Common Controls is available and loaded.

Hmmm... I don't need to set a reference to get ListView etc. in the Additional Controls dialog.

If Additional Controls doesn't work at all, you may need to repair Office...

    Hans,

No joy.  An office repair makes no differences.  Nothing. No additional controls at all.

I found two suggestions (apart from the things you've already tried:

    1. Find a computer where Additional Controls works. Create a document, create a userform and add the controls that you want. Save the document and transfer it to your computer. The Control Toolbox should list the added controls, even though Additional Controls still doesn't work.
    2. Not very attractive: create a new user profile...
