    Hi Syed,

From your description, you can’t open an object in Excel workbook which can be opened by other team members.

I found that this error usually happens when the Excel version is old. In other threads, users fixed this issue by updating Office application. (Excel-> File-> Account-> Product Information-> Update Options.)

If you have already used the up to date version, you can try Online Repair to fix this issue. Please follow the steps in this article: Repair an Office application

If still can’t open this object, you can copy this object into another workbook to check whether you can open it. In the meantime, please provide the screenshot of Excel-> File-> Account-> Product Information page. It will help us understand better.

    Appreciate your cooperation.

    Best Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Ivy,

I tried the options advised. Issue persists. In fact, we uninstalled office 365 and tried installing office 2013. The issue didn't get resolved, therefore, we switched back to office 365. Please help.

    Regards,

    Farhan.

    Hi Syed,

I understand the issue persists after you re-install Office 365, we appreciate your efforts.

From the screenshot, the shows you are using Semi-Annual channel of Office but no the up to date version. (Version 2002 (Build 12527.21236), for your reference: Release notes for Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel releases in 2020 )

Moreover, I would like to know whether other users in your organization are using the same version of Excel?

Can you open the object after saving this workbook as a copy?

Does this error only happen to specific embed object or all the objects?

If the user shares the object workbook for you directly, can you open it with Excel application?

    Best Regards,

    Ivy

    Hi Ivy,

I have checked with my colleague, even she is on the same version.

The issue is specific to one person, because others are able to open. Also, the issue persist for all the imbedded objects in Excel which is downloaded from SAP. Other embedded objects/excel which are not downloaded from SAP we are able to open.

    Regards,

    Farhan
