Why does every single date on the horizontal axis say "Jan-00"? How do I fix this?

    Click anywhere on the chart.

On the Design tab of the ribbon (under Chart Tools), click Select Data.

Click on Edit under Horiontal (Category) Axis Labels.

Clear the Axis label range box, then select A1:O1.

Click OK, then click OK again.

    1.

You need to change the way your data’s structured.

    2.

    See screen shot below.

I believe this gives you what you want.

    3.

    Download the EXCEL file:-

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/dtn3b1qz67tapne/chart_testing_jan_21_20201_1.xlsm/file

    Some brief explanation:-

    4.

    There are 2 Worksheets:-

    orig_data

The above’s where your data’s loaded.

    chart

This shows you the chart I believe you want.

    5.

    From the Worksheet called:-

    orig_data

     - I inserted a Pivot Chart.

    See here:-

Overview of PivotTables and PivotCharts - Excel for Microsoft 365

     - if you don’t know how to create a Pivot Chart.

    6.

The Pivot Chart can then be seen in the Worksheet called:-

    chart

This didn't fix the problem. I don't want the words "Series 1" on the X-axis. I want the months listed in the cells.

I tried to make a pivot chart. This is what I got. Why is it so difficult to transfer data from cells to a graph? This is the most unintuitive data collation tool I have ever used on a digital platform. My data and how I want to graph it couldn't be more simple, yet no one can seem to figure out how to make it work. Microsoft Excel is a joke.
