Sort dates in Pivot Table

I need to sort the dates from latest to the last.

How to do that in Pivot table

To do the sort I need to change the underlying data to Date number formant (right aligned) from text format (left aligned) if I sort without changing to Date then it sorts from A to Z.

After changing it to Date and sorted even though I change the Date format from 1/10/21 to 10-Jan-2021 in the underlying data date format won't update in the pivot table. I see date as 1/10/21 in pivot table. I have to manually format the cells in pivot table to 10-Jan-2021 but pivot table drop down still shows it as 1/10/2021 same is reflected in the slicer.
