Excel Brain Trust I Need Your Help

In Excel I've got merged cells. I need to put bullet points at the start of a new line which I have figured out how to do.

What I need to know do is align them and make them look professional, is there a way that can be done

Eg: picture below

The bullet points and the text are aligned perfectly, how can I do that in Excel?

Thank you

    Re: make it look nice

    Image

Bullet point entered using  Alt + 7 (numeric keypad).
    Spacing uses the space bar.

    Excel doesn't really do bullets.

    #1

create the bullet list in Word, Copy / Paste into Excel

    #2

There are several fancy "list" options in SmartArt, ie Vertical picture list

    vertical curved list

Is there an alternative to using space bar? And I need the whole section done in merged cells, from your picture example you have it over different rows, is there an alternative way?

I know that's why I'm having trouble trying to make this document look like my original picture.

I tried doing the one in word and then copy/paste over to excel it still showed up wrong, for example:

    Word Document

    • SWMS to be reviewed by all those attending site including Client, and signed by all employees working on the Project prior to commencing work
    • Site Asbestos Register to be reviewed to ensure no asbestos present in any work areas

    Excel Document

    ·       SWMS to be reviewed by all those attending site including Client, and signed by all employees working on the Project prior to commencing work

See how the Word document is perfectly aligned, that's what I want inside the merged cells, but when I copy/paste into Excel it looks like that, not aligned, that's the problem I'm having

Does that make any sense at all?

Like I said, Excel doesn't do bullets well. so you have to do them elsewhere then paste them into Excel

OK, think this is s step in the right direction.

    • Make your bullet list in Word
    • Copy
    • Put cursor in the desired cell,
    • press <F2> to go into Edit mode
    • paste the list
    • It should appear all in the single cell. You may have to copy the bullet from the second item to paste into the first item

unfortunately it does not wrap nicely like you want ... OK for single line

You could also use a text box (yellow highlight)

try to stay away from merged cells. They cause problems in the long run
