Equation editor

Dear all, 

I am trying to write a piecewise function with 4 pieces in equation editor. This has always been a trivial task. You would insert a piecewise function and then press enter at the end of the line to add a new line, up to your heart's content. There is no way I can get equation editor to work. Is there a work around? Is this a know fix caused by a specific update and is there a way to revert the update? Like everyone, I am in the middle of important work with deadlines that I need to meet, this is so frustrating.

    Hi Clark,

    Installing the font didn't work either, BUT when I run Microsoft word in safe mode none of the aforementioned problems occur! Any ideas on what could then solve my issue?

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the update. start Office under safe mode will start a clean Office client without running any add-ins or extensions. If the issue doesn’t happen under safe mode, the issue could not be a bug in Office but could be related to some add-ins or extensions you are using.

    Please go to File>Options>Add-ins check all your add-ins used here and disable all of them and check the result. by selecting COM add-in or other categories, you may see all add-ins used in Word. You may check/uncheck to activate/inactivate them. For more information: View, manage, and install add-ins in Office programs

    Unfortunately not. :( I disabled the COM add-ins and even the actions, but the problem persists.

    Hi Alex,

    Thanks for the update, besides Com add-ins, please also check Word add-ins you may use, You may go to File>Options>Add-ins, select Word add-ins.

    Additionally, you may also try to uninstall Office completely and reinstall it with Office uninstall support tool and check if this solve the issue. please note your customization on Office client will lose. You may download the tool from the link:Uninstall Office from a PC - Office Support
